  • I don't know if this is an old wives tale, but my MIL told me to Vicks vapor rub on the bottom of my infants feet, with socks over them and it would clear up his congestion?
    FAIL. lol

  • Castor oil to induce labor. My obstetrician told me to do this... he told me to take 2 oz. of castor oil and mix it with Dr. Pepper and drink it. The very next day I was in labor. Don't know if you'd consider that a wive's tale, but it worked for me!

  • if they get a sun burn put butter on it... no do not do that.. i have never done that but i remember when i was little my grandmother did that and it made it hurt so much worse then the original... so no please never try this

  • When baby have thrush get their pissy diaper and rub it on their tongue. I never tried sounds gross.

  • my dad's mother used to say that if a baby's feet were cold it would give them gas. But you can't go by her, she was insane and a hopeless achoholic

  • I was told to put urine in my kids ear for an inner ear infection

    I was also told to put a lemon slice on my kids feet over night if they had a fever
