blowing air out of tear duct?

I have a cold right now. Everytime I blow my nose, air comes out of my left tear duct. Why and what can I do to fix that?

  • The tear ducts are connected to the inside of your nose by a small tube, hence when you cry your nose runs. This is an overflow mechanism to allow your eyes to be freshly lubricated and allow excess tears to flow away without you having to cry all the time. There isn't much can be done about the air coming out, as if you remove the tube your eyes will weep constantly.

  • I would ask your doctor.
