Rewording my other question: What should the government focus on this year?

Which of these areas, do you feel they should focus on:

Lower taxes
Reduce deficit spending/national debt
End overseas conflicts
Create a more business-friendly environment
Put a stop to Obamacare
Make sure health care reform stays a priority
Fix the Medicare system
Cut spending
Invest in alternative energy sources/environmental protection

  • Focus on shrinking itself.

By undoing the regulations and taxes which have proliferated over the last few decades, we would be encouraging "all of the above".

For instance, did you know that the reason Ford did not roll out its best fuel economy car in the 80's was a gov't regulation? The car would have been a hit, but gov't rules dictate that if a company captures more than a certain % of the market then gov't will come in and break it up. So Ford had to be careful not to be TOO successful ! Thus GOV'T squelched alternative energy development.

In a similar way, 1000's of gov't regs restrict natural innovations.

Nix the regs & we eliminate whole depts, which cuts spending ... which'll nix the rationale for higher taxes ... thus keeping more money IN the pockets of workers and of job-creators ... thus creating a more business-friendly environment.

Nix regs & we HAVE healthcare reform - a free-er market = lower premiums

  • You know ... whenever I see someone against the repeal of the USA Patriot Act, I know that person does not understand the contents of it, nor the real ramifications that it has. It's unfortunate that people who claim to love the Constitution believe that it is keeping them safe.

  • Whatever, why don't you just answer the question for yourself? I've never agreed with you before. Why would I start now?

I did answer it. You have a problem with someone pointing out the obvious?
