  • Everyone is right - he can't eat it if you don't give it to him.

Will he throw a fit? Yes. Will he refuse to eat? Yes. Will he drive you crazy with whining? Yes.

Just don't give in. When he screams for cookies, just point to the bowl of peas (or whatever) and say "There are no cookies. Why don't you eat your peas?" Be sure to use a happy voice. When he says "No" just say "OK, maybe later."

Also, don't let him see you eat any. Don't let him see the packages. Best yet - get them out of the house and don't eat them yourself. You'll live longer, be happier, and raise a healthier child.

  • He can't eat junk food if you don't give it to him. Give him healthy choices. He may push them away at first, but he'll eat when he gets hungry enough. He isn't going to starve.

  • Lovin is right. Dont buy junk food at all, and children that small with not starve themselves to death.

  • my daughter was doing this too and now shes finally starting to eat more foods... shell be 3 in sept.

  • Start by STOP BUYING JUNK FOOD! Thats a No Brainer!!! He eats what YOU provide, so if you provide him with junk then thats what he will eat. Poor Child. You need better parenting skills. Good Luck.

  • Don't buy junk food. Fruit is a sweet enough item to replace candy. Try giving him peaches, apples, and other fruits. Don't eat junk food around him, because he'll want it too. Set the example for your child and eat healthy. Try watching a show called "Honey We're Killing the Children" it'll scare you enough to start feeding that child right.

  • Also, he won't stave to death. He will give in and eat the good food you provide when he is hungry enough.

  • You are the parent. Do not offer junk to him and he has no choice. Give him healthy alternatives and he may pose a fight in the beginning, but he will not starve and will eat when he gets hungry. Don't eat that stuff in front of him either, or keep it in the house where he can see it. That will just torture him and he won't understand why you can have it and he cannot.

  • lol i have been going through this myself!! But everyone is right.. just keep it out the house or hide it!! I limit my daughter if she wont eat i wont let her have anything... eventually she eats... after she eats good i give her a cookie or a piece fo candy... not everytime but every other day or so!! It can be VERY frustrating with the whining but after a few days they get used to it!!
