Do angels and ppl have the same free will?

Lucifer got kicked out of heaven for trying to fulfill his own agenda instead of God's. His punishment was to be damned to hell (as with his followers). So when I think about the said consequences of mankind for doing the same...We got to hell, right?

Do angels have the same free will as mankind or are they punished w/o forgiveness?

  • No. Angels were created basically to do Gods will. Satan was thrown out of heaven because he decided he was smarter and better then God. Angels who are thrown down from Heaven have no chance of ever going back to Heaven. Mankind has the choice always. We can believe in God or not. If not, we go to hell. Also I know God wants people to worship him, but in the bible it doesnt say we have to go to church every Sunday or get into some contest about who is a better Christian. God just wants us to believe in him. Thats all.

Angels already believe. They know God. They have seen God. They know why they were created. When they fall, they fall forever.

  • Yes! Remember there was a war in Heaven many angels chose to follow Lucifer into rebellion. They were cast out with him. The angels that remained faithful are the ones who continue to minister in Heaven. They had a choice just as we do. Evil will never rise again in Heaven. Oh, how I long for that day on Earth as well!

  • Yes they do. Yes they are punished forever, they cannot repent . They already chose to follow Lucifer ( Satan ) forever and can never return to Heaven. They will be cast into the Lake of Fire with their Master Satan.

  • Yes, angels have free will. Satan chose to be drawn out by his own desires and fall into sin. (James 1:14,15) He was eventually cast out of heaven, although not right away (see Job chapter 1 &2), and down to the earth with the other angels, now demons, who chose to follow him. (Revelation chapter 12) They have already been judged and cannot repent. In the future Satan and his demons will be destroyed. (Revelation 20:10) For humans that sin, they will die. (Ezekiel 18:4; Ecclesiastes 9:5; Romans 6:23) The Bible does not say that they will be tormented forever. In fact that is something God would detest. (Jeremiah 7:31)

  • I agree with Lexylex that angles do have free will. Fallen angels or demons are the ones who rebelled against God. Angels have a different purpose than ours. They do not recieve salvation or have a need to believe through faith because they are direct servants and messengers of God. Once they rebel they lose their place and are cast out of heaven.
