Are green boogers more than a cold?

My baby has had those green sticky booger running out of his nose and I am wondering if it is more than a cold? Usually when he has a cold the nose drainage is usually clear. Any helpful advice is appreciated.

  • To the best of my knowledge green indicates the pretense of bacteria. This does not necessarily indicate infection, but the possibility is there. Keep an eye on him and see if you notice any other symptoms, and if not you should be in the clear.

  • Green has always preceeded infection in our boy, but that may just be him.

  • green just means infection....i wouldnt worry as long as it clears up....

my son has really tiny nasal passages and get boogery (lol a word?) all the time...sometimes they are green...as long as he doesnt keep a high tempature and vomit a lot he should be fine. If it doesnt clear up in a couple days i would make a doctor apt.
