What's the difference between chicken stock and chocken broth?

My recipe calls for stock so of coarse I bought it but it was with the broths. So what's the difference? It looks all the same to me.

  • Stock is made by simmering bones and veggies in water.

    Broth is made by simmering whole meat (like a chicken) plus seasonings and veggies in water.

    They are fairly interchangeable in recipes.

  • Beats me. I usually find I only have chicken broth and substitute the broth for the stock in such recipes. Haven't had a problem...
