My daughter asks "Why do we have a veterans day?"

My answer was to honor the veterans who fought for our rights. Do you have any ideas on how to celebrate that so it means something for our kids?

  • Thank a soldier, donate money to a veteran charity, look for a local activity honoring our veterans.
On a side note, did you know that many homeless people are war veterans?

  • There is a program, though I don't remember the name of it, where you can adopt a soldier. Basically you send someone over in Iraq home made treats, letters, etc. It really brightens their day and it's a good thing to do.

Plus what the person above me said.
