Bread Maker Recipes

I just got a bread maker, and I've tried two recipes. They did not turn out well. Does anyone have any tried and true recipes to share with me? Thanks!

  • before mine broke I used to have a cookbook called "the bread machine cookbook" you can probably find it on Amazon. i know I made more dough then actual bread when I had mine. The homemade hamburger and hot dog buns were good as well as the cinnamon roll dough

  • Did you use bread flour? Was the water the right temp? Not being critical, just saying that those two things are pretty vital to bread making success.

  • Supermoist Wheat Bread
    * 1/2 c. warm water
    * 1/3 c. warm milk
    * 6 Tbsp. plain yogurt (can be Greek)
    * 2 Tbsp. honey
    * 1 tsp. vanilla
    * 2 Tbsp. butter, melted
    * 2 Tbsp. instant mashed potato flakes
    * 2 Tbsp. ground flaxseed
    * 1 Tbsp. wheat germ
    * 1/2 tsp. salt
    * 3 c. whole wheat bread flour (I used stone ground whole wheat flour, not necessarily for bread, and the bread turned out great!)
    * 1 tsp. active dry or instant yeast

    Place all ingredients in bread pan in order listed. Select Basic cycle (yes, Basic) and desired crust setting, or use dough setting. Press start. If using dough setting, remove dough after the cycle ends and form into a loaf. Let rise in greased bread pan and bake at 350° for 30 to 35 minutes.

  • Here's our family's favorite white bread recipe. It's soft on the inside and a mixture of chewy/crispy for the crust.

    Rice Bread:

    * 1/2 cup cooked white or brown rice
    * 1 1/2 Tbsp. (1 Tbsp. + 1 1/2 tsp.) vegetable or canola oil

    Put these two ingredients in a 2 cup measuring cup and add enough warm water to make 1 1/2 c. Dump into bread machine pan.

    * 2 Tbsp. sugar
    * 2 tsp. salt
    * 3 cups bread flour
    * 1 1/2 tsp. active dry yeast.

    Set to desired setting and start. I prefer to use the dough cycle then take the dough out and form a loaf, let rise in my bread pan and bake at 350 for 30 minutes.

  • I do not have any recipes per se but I have learned a few things over the years. First of all did it come with a recipe book? Second all ingredients should be room temp not straight from the fridge. We have had good loaves over the years and also bad loaves.
