  • I think doc's prefer it done within the first week. Both my boys were.

  • That is your decision entirely and it doesn't have to be done at all. Personally I feel it is their body and they can choose to have it done. There is no reason for me to have cosmetic surgery performed on my child.

  • I did not have it done on my boys. But I do remember the doctor coming in a day or so after birth and asking if we wanted it done, and he would have done it while we were in the hospital.

  • They did our first some at the hospital, I think 2 days after he was born. Our second son had to be done a little later, because his one leg was casted the first day....because it needed to be straightened out due to how he was snooshed inside.

  • Mine was done in the hospital before they released us by my ob/gyn.

  • Mine aren't, but as everyone has said most boys are circ'd before leaving the hospital. However, it can be done at any point in their lives. I know a guy who had it done when he was in his 20's.

  • Mine was done before we left the hospital, he was about 36 hours old. IMO the sooner the better.
