  • I don't. I don't take everything literally either. Somethings are symbolic or a figure of speech.

  • I thought it was just an expression. I view God as a formless energy/spirit, with no gender or human aspects/characteristics and how we are "created in God's image" to me means that we are souls/spirits and we are just temporarily in these bodies. jmo

  • Well because most believe we were made in god's image so he looks like us with eyes and all.

  • I think God has eyes because we are made in His image, so I would imagine that God looks quite human.

  • Dont think the Divine necessarily does and its unimportant to me.

I think it really boils down to we imagine what is easiest and so it becomes easy to imagine the Divine looking more like us. Just easier for the human mind to understand that way.

In truth, noone knows and noone will know exactly what the Divine looks like.
