  • Chai seeds?

Never heard of those.. Chai is "tea" in Hindi.

Do you mean Chia seeds? If so,you add them to foods like you would flax seed or hemp seeds (sprinkled in or on top.......or...ground up and added to whatever you are cooking/eating)

  • I would go with the recipe directions since the seeds probably need to soak overnight.

  • What is the purpose of the seeds? Good taste, texture or vitamins?

  • Yes Chia seeds...sorry. My daughter (15 months) was helping me:)
They are a natural high-orac antioxidant, vegetarian sourced essential fatty acids and high in dietary fiber. A plant source of omega-3.

  • do you mean like the tea? I thought that was made of many different herbs like cardamom and cinnamon and pepper..

Answer by MamaJasmine at 9:27 PM on Jan. 2, 2011

  • I would as the recipe says. I just start cooking raw food meals, and they call for a lot of soaking and then mixing in(like the smoothie) follow the recipe.

    good luck
