What is your trick to keep your kid doing a chore? Mine (12) keeps sluffing off and won't do them.

  • We have a chore chart, if they don't have their chores completed when they are supposed to be done they lose privileges. It took them a little while to realize I was serious, now they are really good at completing things when they are supposed to!

  • You have to keep on them like a Drill Sargent. Check up on them and make sure they are doing the chores. If they do not do the chore right make them go back and do it over and over tell it is done right. That is the only way for a kids to learn how to clean things, right. If the kid refuses to do the chore. You refuse to give them any perks.

  • chore chart works great. take away phone, tv, going out with friends, games anything they like. But you have got to stick to it. If you give in they might start slacking off again.

  • Tell your child that they will being losing privileges and possessions. Then follow through. Take the cell phone or video games until the list is completed.
