What age did your child learn to throw up in a bucket/toilet?

I was trying to teach my daughter this (she's 3 ) but she wouldn't do it just would throw up on herself, the bed or go off in the hallway and do it. What is age was your kids when they learned to do this so they didn't always puke everywhere?

  • From the very first time they vomited (besides baby bottle puke). I hate cleaning up vomit, so if I knew they weren't feeling good or they woke up sick or something, a bucket never left their side and I learned each kid's cues so I could quick grab the bucket and get it under them if they were about to blow. They all knew how to grab it for themselves by the time they were 3/4-ish (they don't all get puke-sick every year so it's not 1 set age across the board for my kids).
