Help!- My dog could make the paint peel!!

I have not changed their diet- so is this just an inevitable sign of the aging process for them? (They are 11 & 12) I sweart it gets worse every day! They act fine - just gassy

  • What else are they being fed? Seriously, I know several dogs who, if they are fed even a single potato chip can gas out their families! If you know for sure they are getting anything else, the company may have changed a non-essential ingredient in the diet. It may be time to change to an easily digested one (ask your vet). Once you have a diet, it must be strictly followed. Alternately, have they been dewormed recently?

You can always ask your vet when they go in for their next senior wellness exam.

  • Kyliesmom5 may be right on,it could be the brand.I think that alot of fillers in the food could cause the gas.Maybe they need a bland diet.My almost 14 year old is on a bland diet because his tummy just can't tolerate regular food.He doesn't have gas he gets diarrhea and vomiting. He does well on cooked rice and hamburg or chicken, cottage cheese, scrambled egg, etc.

  • I would not depend on your vet for advise about nutrition unless they have done their own research outside of school. They do not learn much about nutrition in school so many unfortunetly don't know as much as they should.  Check out this site it is an excellant resource for dog food

  • What food are they on? They may not be able to handle the food and may need something for sensitive tummies or a senior diet.
