Apple Trees

Me and the kids sprouted apple seeds around Halloween time, they are in dixie cups right now, and are about 2 inches tall. Does anyone have a clue as to how long it will take them to grow into little trees that we can actually plant in the yard?

  • No Clue but here's a bump for ya! I would think as soon as they get sturdy enough to plant outdoors you'd be fine to do so. Have you googles it or contacted your local nursery and asked them?

  • Wait til after the last frost in the spring and then protect them from lawnmowers, little feet, and any lawn nibblers like deer or rabbits.

  • And keep them well watered.

  • You won't have mature trees for many, many years. Be sure to space them far enough apart when you plant to allow for the tree canopy.
