is it ok to use adult skin lotion on a 5 month old? seems the baby lotion isn't doing the job!

  • Its not recommended but if its fragrence free then try it. Put a small amount on his/her skin and see if there is a reaction. Go from there

  • I don't know why babies need lotion anyway, but I would use something like Eucerin or a homeopathic salve if she had eczema--but nothing more without seeing a doc.

  • she has a little rash on her belly, she has gotten a lot of baths lately and her skin is getting dry

  • If it's hypoallergenic, you can try it. If it's perfumed, it's probably a bad idea.

  • I used Aveeno Baby on my son and it was great. They have an extra thick formula that's supposed to be for eczema. It comes in a smaller container than the regular Aveeno Baby lotion and has a dark blue cap (instead of light blue).

  • my doctor said cetaphil sensitive skin was good for babies if the regular lotion isnt working

  • Nooooo. There are a lot of baby lotions on the market today, that are much better than they typical baby lotions (baby magic, johnson's). Try a better baby lotion, but don't use adult lotion on an infant.
