Can sex during pregnancy cause cramping?

I'm 18 weeks pregnant, and my husband and I have had sex a bit more than normal lately, and today I've noticed that I'm mildly crampy - not too bad, not even enough to want to take any pain meds or anything, just barely noticeable. Could it be the sex that's causing the cramping, or should I be more worried?

  • Orgasms will cause contractions. As long as they go away after awhile and they don't progress, you should be fine.
