How often to get a break?

How often would it be good to take a complete break from your children? like just a couple of hrs to do something for youself.

  • I never did until they were all in school. It's just the sacrifice I made when they were small. Now they are all in school, and it's so nice, and sometimes I even feel guilty, but I feel I earned it being I was home 24/7 with them before they were school age...

  • Aside from bedtime, because let's face it, we're wiped out by then, too, I would say once a week is completely reasonable.

  • i only get a break when i work but than again when your off and have spare time ur thinking o let me spend some time with - - so i think a few hrs is needed but we as moms get in the car and say o i wonder if he - - - lol :)

  • i'd say once or every other week.... for me it's mostly when i run errands without him... most the time it's with him though... or when he is sleeping... but i'm okay with that... or even when i go to see my friend and he is off playing with his...

  • We have wonderful neighbors! We trade childcare, meals, the occasional adult beverage, etc.
