Is Delta Air Lines good?

I am trying to book a trip and am not sure which Airlines are good anymore since there has been so much negative talk with Lay Offs and Air Lines going Bankrupt..
United Air Lines
US airways
does any one know which ones are good or better than most?

  • I always try to use Delta....they seem to have the best flights and also the best prices.....Every time I fly with any other airline the landings are a mess as well as treatment during the flight. But that is just my experience. My mom will only use American last flight with them was awful.

  • Out of the ones you listed I like united then delta. Kind of depends on the length of the trip.

  • United and Delta re the best but I always fly Southwest because its a lot cheaper

  • We go with southwest. They are usually cheapest, they don't charge you a fee to change your ticket (just the difference between the cost of your old and new one), your bags fly free (instead of $25+ per bag each way). I don't like that they got rid of family priority boarding, but almost all airlines have.

We haven't had a problem with cancellations/delays like we did with American. I REFUSE to fly continental. They can change your flight plans without your permission. And did 3 times for one flight.

    Hope that helps.

  • Delta I think holds the record for losing luggage -

  • If Southwest is available, it's the very best. I've flown all and Delta would be my second pick. Never had a problem with lost luggage. Get a Delta/American Express credit card Your second bag is free for each person instead of being $25.

  • I've mostly used Southwest and American.  Every experience with Southwest has been great, but we have had some issues with American, including being bumped from an overbooked flight.   About 11 years ago I flew on Continental; the flight and service were fine, but my luggage and my daughter's carseat didn't make it to our destination until late the day after we got there. I told them I couldn't leave the airport without a carseat, and they gave me a brand new one to keep.
