i had no choice today but to make the tv my babysitter. i felt bad but i couldn't even get off the couch! i had a sore, swollen throat yesterday and when i went to bed i started coming down with a fever and shivering like crazy. i barely slept last night, constantly waking up too hot or too cold and could barely swallow. this morning, i had to have my mom take my oldest to school. then i had to have my grandma pick her up! i felt too "delirious" to drive with my fever of 103. for someone who's temps usually range in the 97, that is high! my mom took me to the doctor with my other 2 kids, and went shopping with them while i was at the doctor. turns out i have strep throat. she gave me lidocaine for the pain but it did absolutely nothing. now finally, finally the fever has broken after having it since 9pm last night. i can attempt to swallow food now, before it was so swollen the food would get stuck. i have an appetite now too. but really, what other choice did i have but to put the tv on for my kids? im still not feeling great but atleast the fever is gone!
how do you do it?? btw i have 3 kids under age 5. my husband had to work all day and wont be home til 7:30.

If I am really bad DH stays home and cares for the kids. Sometimes you just CAN'T, which is why having the other parent helps. Other times I just make it a lazy day. I make sure my kids are fed, and usually have the TV on, and make sure they have stuff to entertain them, while I relax on the couch.
