  • My situation is different but I've been out of work for over 3 years and been looking for a job the past 6 months with no luck. I apply to at lease 15+ a week

  • Honey I have been out of work for 7 years. They want people with recent experience.

  • It really depends on your area, what type of work you want, etc… A friend of mine just got a job after being home for 12 years. I think it was due to the holidays and they liked her, so they kept her.

  • I stayed home for over a year and it was slightly difficult to find a job because of the lack of what was available, no one gave me a hard time about having stayed home for as long as I did though.

  • It probably depends on where you live and what type of job you are looking for.
    Good Luck!

  • I would think you run into a problem after a year's time. It would also depend on the kind of job and the employer.

  • 6 months is still reasonable. I agree with musicmom08, up to a year isn't too too bad. I wouldn't want to go past a year.

  • I found a great contractor job after being out of the workforce for 5 years. Anything is possible.
