Should I call the wrong number back?

The last couple days two different businesses have left messages on my answer machine. Normally I wouldn't worry about them but both of these were medical calls in one way or another. I deleted the first one but I still have the second one. It was asking "Lady X" to call them regarding a refill on medication (or something). Is it my job to call the place of business and tell them they have a wrong number?

  • I should add, make sure the caller is legit and not just fishing for numbers. You could look the number up online.

  • If I was sure it was legitimate, I absolutely would call them back. It would take so little of your time and could be something very, very important to "Lady X". You never know.

  • I would if it is regarding someone's health... just let them know that they have left several messages
and it is not Mrs X 's number... they will most likely call her dr and get her phone number that way...
It is most likely off by one number too...

  • It would be courteous of you, but I wouldn't feel any obligation to do so.

  • I would and make sure not to give them your name and # and tell them they called and was looking for Lady X and have the wrong # so they won't be calling again.
