why do baby's cheeks get red?

my son has a bad cold with a low grade fever. took him to ped today and his ears looked fine, lungs were good, just has a common cold. but i noticed later in the day that his cheeks got red. do babies cheeks get red when they have colds/fevers?

  • the fever could do that....when my son was 9 months and got his first fever that was one of the first things that clued me into him having one

  • that is a sign of fever but my ds's cheeks get red if we're out and about in the cooler weather or wind
