What are your towels?

I noticed today that I have a LOT of towels. At least 50. And I have NEVER bought one. When I moved out, my mom gave me some of hers, and over the years she has given me more. None are new and some I've cut down into dish cloth sizes. Some came with my husband, others from renters. Since none are sets I feel strange giving them to good will and I do use some of them.....Perhaps I'll save them and give them to my daughter when she moves out in 17 years.
So I'm asking....what are your towels? What have you never bought (or bought very little of) that you have a lot of?

  • I always buy pretty towels. Mine are all in sets. I have like 40 that are new...they stay new too since we have so many. Then we have like 5 beach towels and then like 8-10 mismatch towels from years and years ago.

  • We have 10-15 random towels. Somehow, no more than any 2 match! We need to purge and get new ones, but it's a very low priority. I have a few from when I was younger, and he came with his own. I also have my fair share of beach towels that are well worn.

  • So none of you have things that have been given to you obsessively? It doesn't have to be towels. I know a guy who has been given oven mitts for six years now. He doesn't use them, but now has over 30.

  • I don't have a lot of anything; I hate clutter and if I don't use something (whether I bought it years prior or received it as a gift), I give it to someone who can use it or I get rid of it.

  • Any animal shelter, kennel or vet would love to have some of your mismatched towels, I'm sure!

Mine are in sets, but my kids just grab a new one each day (a battle I choose not to wage) so they are never hung up. DH & I have matching towels because I change them together.

I get mine at Walmart, Target or Kohls when they're on sale. Usually when I have guests coming...
