How much do you "large families" (4 or more kids) spend on groceries/month?

I'm thinking that we spend a ton on groceries. I usually shop at Walmart and don't have time to clip coupons (I know, I should make the time, but with all four of my kiddos boeing under 7, I always end up quitting after awhile). Anyway, I'm just curious.

  • 4 kids here, spend about $60 a week, sometimes a little less .... so between $200 and $240 a month.

  • I have 5 children and another 3 children of my neighbours who are here weekdays from 9am - 5pm. So that's 8 kids in all. I spend about the equivalent of $175 a week at the supermarket. I'm thinking that's awful...

  • Wow, how do you keep it at $60 a week? I'd love to know what sorts of meals you cook.
