If altering Huck Finn is wrong why was it cool to alter the Pledge?

Many of those who spoke out against Huck Finn being made more PC would be the first to say the Pledge should stay the way it is now, even tho that is not how it was written and the changes were made against the wishes of the writers family. How can one reconcile that logic?

  • No idea, they should put the Pledge back the way it was intended to be, too.

  • Neither should be altered. ESPECIALLY if the alteration goes against the wishes of the author or their family.

You can not. Not everyone has the same ability to use logic and reasoning in the process of problem solving and decision making. Many universities offer courses in logic and reasoning-the concepts allude many people.

Neither should have been altered. Placation of the vocal.... those seem to be the same folks who scream the loudest about PCness being the death of this country, Irony indeed.

  • They changed the pledge? My kids still say it the old way. When was it changed? Did they take out "under god?"
