does walmart price match their own items?

meaning that if they put it on sale or reduce the price in 30 days they will match it? i know that bed bath and beyound does. i wanted to get my daughter a bike that they had online for sale then before i got there the bike had gone up on price. well her grandparents offered to pay for it since i can't afford it at the new price but we rarely can give our children much and she needs some new pants and new shoes desperately that i had hoped it would come back down and i could buy what she needed with the money saved. either way i need to buy this bike soon and i can't wait forever for it to come on sale but i just know that the minute i do buy it it would come back down. so do they do price match? i can't find this bike anywhere else cheaper.

  • I used to work at walmart, and every walmart will price things different. It can be the same shirt but at two different locations for two different prices. If you saw it online, print it off and bring it with you. Tell your cashier you want it for that price and they will give it to you if it is a sale still going on that day. Usually they will without a problem. If the sale is already done, they probably wont, but if you make a big enough deal or pretend you didn't know it was over, they might just give it to you anyway. You might have to talk to a manager, they need them to approve certain price differences (depending on if the sale is over or if it meets a certain dollar amt). It just depends on how much of a cost difference their is I guess.

  • You can always call and ask.

  • If they don't, play the game. You return it, then while still standing at the counter, ask to buy it. They may not like it, but they can't fight it. Now if it has been used already that may be more difficult.

  • Take in a printout of the online price. If it has expired, then no, they probably won't honor it, but if it's still available then they should honor it.

  • I'd guess that it depends on which Walmart you go to. But i bet most of them do price match. Call and ask =)
