is it ok to take benedryl while breast feeding?

for the past two days i have had itchy nose and been sneezing my head off and i was wondering if it was ok to take benedryl while i am breastfeeding my baby? anyone know????

  • its ok to take it while prego so im assuming its safe to take while breastfeeding. try not to take it right befor you are going to breastfeed though.

  • I was told not to take any antihistamines while breastfeeding. It can make the baby real drowsy and affect their breathing. I would call the pediatrician or if you have a nirse helpline I would call that. It is better to be safe than sorry when it comes to breastfeeding your lil one.
