  • I bring out the best in him. I encourage him when he does something, no matter how small it seems. I go with him fishing, even if I'm not in the mood because i know he likes my company. I listen instead of trying to make my point. I don't ever yell at him. I show him respect. I don't call him names unless they're loving ones. I always say please and thank you. I always ask instead of demand. I dress in a fashion that I know he likes. I ask him for his opinion. I listen to his suggestions. I never say no, just can we think about it. I agree to disagree. I don't talk down at him or ever call him Stupid. I tell him how proud I am of him. I don't ever bring up past wrongs and we never go to bed mad. Of course after thirty years I hope I've learned something. By doing the above, i'm the one who is loved, appreciated, and spoiled rotten! Would you believe we still hold hands & he opens the car door for me. You can use this any age!
