dry patch of skin around mouth?

Hi! My daughter (18 months) has developed a little patch of dry skin to the left of her mouth. Im not sure if it is from the weather (we are in WI), or maybe from her pacifier? I am just curious if anyone knows what it may be, or what I should try?

  • I would take her to the doc. She might have a allergy.

  • If sucking on the pacifier is keeping drool on the corner of her mouth, that could do it. Pacifiers can also cause kids to get a general rash around their mouths. Try a little dab of petroleum jelly on it a couple of times a day, and if it's not getting better in 48 hours, talk to your pediatrician.
