Every time I correct my 19 month old he laughs at me, how do I get him to take me seriously?

  • Perhaps your correction isn't stinging enough. I can honestly say I never had that problem with any of my children, but they were taught early on that disrespect of parents was not going to be tolerated. Laughing at correction is very disrespectful and ought to be sternly disciplined. I recommend you spank his little bare leg, at least hard enough so that he doesn't laugh about it.

  • give one worrying then ALWAYS follow through, don't let his laughing get to you. Pick your battles in other words..... if you choose to correct him follow through! Otherwise don't even say anything.
