How can I get my 5 yr old grandson to stop stalling & be cooperative?

I have to taxi him each day and he stalls leaving school and then stalls getting out of the car. When he comes to my house and it is time to go, he stalls. His mom negotiates with him so she is no help.

  • You tell your grandson when he is with you your rules are what he goes by or he will have a consequence. Make sure he understands and then put it in place, everyday, every time. If your daughter balks about it she can find someone else to take care of him.

  • Give him a choice? If he wants to do certain things he'll do what you want hen you want? Such as if he gets computer/TV time, if he doesn't wanna cut into that he'll pick up the pace...
