  • We have a parent educator from a program we are part of. She says give them a pillow to hit and say if they want to hit that is the only thing they can hit. Not sure how well that works. With my DD when she starts to hit, i tell her we do NOT hit and then say we only give high fives and hold my hand up and that distracts her and she thinks its fun. GL!

  • When a child starts to hit. You redirect the child by telling them that isnt nice to hit someone else. Then have a child to take a time out until they have calm down time. When they have calm down. Ask them to explain what was upseting them so much. Then discuss better ways of handling their anger. Explain that when we become upset doesnt give anyone the right to hit someone just because we are angry.
