How important is the stride length on an elliptical?

  • I read on a website that unless you're shorter than 5'3, the stride length should be more than 17" so that you can fully extend your legs and get a full range of motion (for full muscular development) when you exercise...and also so that your not super-uncomfortable while exercising! If the stride length is too long, you could hyper-extend your muscles and jack up your hip joints. So, I'd say, it's fairly important. Here's the info that I found:
