What do you like to put on your grilled cheese sandwiches besides the cheese?

I've added tomato, sometimes bacon, ham slices, even tuna to make grilled cheese sandwiches that were a bit different from the usual and they all are really good. How about you?

  • It depends on the cheese. For that yellow one- velvet-ta?- I put mustard, horseradish, and olives to mask the taste. For a proper grilled cheese I put butter on the wheat bread, two slices of Munster and three pieces of dark chocolate. Yum! If I have Gouda I use rye bread w/ some pork curry or w/ eggplant pesto.
my 2 yr old loves her's with provolone on wheat w/ raisins.
