Top Chef SALT

Top Chef judges often say that the food needs more salt.
Why don't they just put more on it.
I hate food that has too much salt.
Most restaurant, processed and prepared food has too much salt.
It is not good for us and I prefer too little salt to too much.
I can add my own if I want more.
Do any of you agree or am I off the wall.
I do know there is a difference to have the salt cooked in the food.
I just am really against too much and it often makes food uneatable to me.

  • Well when you are cooking at that level and eating its supposed to be perfect nothing needed to be added. Chefs at that level would get offended if you salted their food.

  • There is a HUGE difference in salt added while cooking vs salt added afterwards with taste.
We use Sea Salt as it is better for you AND you don't need as much for the flavor.
