BBQ meatballs are cooking right now.. Looking for side ideas..

Okay so the BBQ meatballs are almost done and Im trying to decide what kind of sides would go with it. We're going to be making BBQ Meatballs sandwiches (using sub rolls).. Little brother wants mac & cheese.. What other sides could I make that would go with it? Thanks everyone.

  • You need a dark green vegetable. Sauteed spinach? Garlic green beans? Peas with pearl onions? Dark green salad with tomatoes and feta?

  • Oooohhh. that sounds yummy! I'd serve hashbrown casserole or au grautin potatoes. Here's my hashbrown casserole recipe:

    Hashbrown Casserole

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
    -------- ------------ --------------------------------
1 large package frozen shredded hash browns
1 can cream of mushroom soup -- or cream of chicken
    2 cups sour cream
2 cups cheddar cheese -- shredded
    1/2 cup butter

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Heat butter, soup and cheese in a large sauce pan until melted. Mix in sour cream and potatoes. Pour into 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes - 1 hour.

  • Oh, I don't follow those directions exactly. I skip the butter, defrost the potatoes in the microwave, then mix all of the ingredients in a bowl until blended. Spread in the pan then sprinkle with a little extra cheese on top. I also like to add chopped onions.
