  • No. Maybe once or twice their whole lives. They go to bed at 8, otherwise they won't wake up for school.

  • Every now and again when they are really tired even ds will do it. DD has always been one to put herself to bed when she's tired although once bedtimes came along... there went the whole thing and they would drive me nuts (still do sometimes although its better now that's she's in kinder and there's no nap time).
But yeah it happens once in a while.

  • Because no one here ever suggested that it's mature or sophisticated to 'stay up' when tired, and everyone here thinks sleep is a wonderful thing, yes... kids have gone to sleep when they're tired all their lives, often no matter what time it was, what was going on or who was around.

When bedtime is used as a punishment or a way to shun people, or a way to 'rank' the value of people based on age... then they grow up still not knowing how to go to bed when they're tired.
