  • According to Good Morning America--They don't know and they might not ever know.

The quote by the newsman said

"Was it him responding to the voices in the media, or just the voices in his head."

  • He was simply a mentally unstable person, with a long history of anti-American sentiments posted for the world to see.

He is a 22 year old "wannabe" who likely hoped for a suicide by cop scenario, and wanted to go out in a blaze of glory. Now it looks like he and his voices will just rot in a cell somewhere for the rest of his pathetic life.

  • There isn't always a motive. He was very disturbed.

  • He seems to have been mentally ill. This isn't something that will easily understood.

  • If you have seen this guys postings you already know that no group or the media pushed this guy to do what he did. He has had problems most of his life. In School, out of school and with the cops. People who knew him said he was obviously disturbed. His writings and postings showed that he was against government because he thought they were using mind control. He thought police were working outside the constitution and that the very people of his area were stupid and uneducated. His ramblings included nothing about Gifford or one political party or another. He fell through the cracks. He was refused to the Army because they said he was not mentally stable but it was not reported. They told him to get well and come back and talk to them. If anything needs to be done, it's Arizona and their need to take another look at their gun laws. He never should have been able to get that gun.

  • Looking at his various postings and youtube and applying my degree in Psychology he appears to be mentally ill, and possible schizophrenic. He talked about mind control, conscious dreaming, etc. It sounds like he was delusional. Since we cannot apply rational thinking to an irrational mind we may never know his true motive. He was nuts.

Gun laws won't stop someone from getting a gun. China is having carjackings with guns as the weapon.

  • Mental issues.  Considering how moderate of a politician she was I would doubt hit had much to do with her stance on issues.
