When can you see the baby through an ultrasound?

How earlycan they give you one to be sure the babies heart is beating and that there is something there?

  • 7 weeks for the heart beat. You can see it before then.

  • I had an ultrasound at about 6 weeks to rule out a miscarriage when I had some cramping issues and you could see baby and the heartbeat, but it all depends on the woman and where the baby is attached in her womb. I think in most pregnancies the baby would be visible by the 6 week mark, heartbeat can be heard by 12 weeks in most cases
