How can i get my kids to share?

I have a 2 year old and a 1 year old (both girls) and they fight over their toys ALL the time! How can i get them to share with each other?

  • It is very hard to share at these young ages. You can model sharing for them but neither one will be ready to fully grasp the concept yet.

  • They are still a little too young for it BUT sharing is not an instictive thing... its something you need to teach by modeling, talking it out, doing it with them, etc.etc. but right now...I'm not so sure they are at the right DEVELOPMENTAL age to get it. To a toddler much less a 1 yr. old everything they can see is 'theirs" they are still grasping the diff. b/w me and the rest of the world.
    Sorry mom. Do lots of trying to distract, sitting with, "sep" areas etc.
    It does get easier though, I promise
