is it ok to drink a glass of red wine a night if your breast feeding?

  • I have heard it's fine as long as you don't breastfeed again for 4-5 hours or something like that. Give it time to empty out of your system.

  • It takes two hours for one serving to pass your system completely (so that BM is not affected)...i would have a glass on occaision while i was BFing my DD, and she is fine.

  • Yep, just drink it while you breastfeed or right after, so that you'll have a few hours to get it out of your system before you nurse again.

  • Yes, you can, just do it right after you feed or pump. Also, make sure it's one serving and not three (most wine glasses hold a lot more wine than is referred to as "a glass").
