raw potatoes

im craving raw potatoes think its dangerous to eat them while pregnant?

  • No. It's not like meat!! Would you cook an apple or orange just because you are pregnant?

    As long as you wash them you are fine.

  • I agree. People eat raw potatoes. I wouldn't! Eww! I am SO about the texture of my foods. But some people like them! I don't think being pregnant makes any difference, but, OMGoodness, what an odd craving! lol

  • yes very odd lol! I just was not sure heard a myth once that they can cause worms in your stomach..

  • Wash the outside and/or peel them. If people have gotten worms after eating raw potatoes, it is because the worm eggs (microscopic) were on the outside of the potato.

    Infective stages of worms come from eating raw meat, certain insects and (unknowingly) fecal matter. Probably others, but those are the ones I'm familiar with.

  • As long as it's been washed and preferably peeled it should be fine. Added benefit it helps heartburn.
