can i collect tdi if I do not plan to return to work?

I am pregnant and I dont plan on going back to work. Can I still collect tdi?

  • Are you referring to short term disability? Where I used to work you could collect as long as you went back to work for a certain period of time, I want to say it was a week but it's been awhile.

  • Try it. You collect before you go back. It's not much money though.

  • If you are planning on not going back, you should not collect money. It is designed for those who physically can't, not those that don't want to.

  • You paid into it. You can collect on it talk to your HR dept to see what the rules are.

  • Technically I would not be able to work. I am still working and plan on working up until I deliver. Plus it is not a form of PA, I paid into it, and I have been for years, I have never once collected tdi.
