What can I make with leftover, stained clothes or useless fabric?

I have hundreds of items of clothing that have stains or are quite bobbled so no good for giving to a charity shop. Any ideas for what I can do with this fabric? I.e. sewing it into a thin blanket or something along those liens.

  • Patchwork quilt comes to mind. You can also do small throw pillows or crafty dolls.

  • Make rag rugs- useful, and not difficult. You can also cut them up as rags to give a bag of them for a wedding shower. When I was first married I had only new stuff and nothing for rags.

  • Fabric can be ripped up to be a component in paper-making. In college, we made our own paper with scraps of clothes ... maybe contact local art departments.
