Charitable donations on tax returns?

How does this work? Do you get deductions for them or anything? My hubby has been donating since he joined the military but we have never listed it on our returns before.

  • If you donate over the standard deduction, you may be able to take a larger deduction (remember, this is off of your income, not your taxes)
