Do you think it was men or women who've pushed more...

for the standards of beauty here in America? Think supermodels, actresses, those in advertising. Who sets the standard?

People can put out a "standard" of beauty all they want. It is up to each individual woman to decide if they are going to pound their heads against the wall and try and live up to someone else's standard of beauty.. or live up to their own..

If a woman chooses to try and live up to someone else's standards that's her choice. However, I feel confident in stating this: I fully believe more women would be happier, if they worked to live up to their own standards of beauty instead of someone else's.

Besides, standards in beauty change throughout history, are different in different societies, and vary from culture to culture.. Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder.
