When should I expect my belly to "drop"?

I'm 30 weeks and 1 day there a certain time frame where this usually happens?

  • some women don't drop until the child starts to go through the canal, it can make for a "longer" labor bc the child hasn't been sitting right on the cervix. but i wouldn't worry about the baby dropping until it's time to deliver anyway, it's soooo uncomfortable to have that baby right on your bladder!

  • It was different with each pregnancy for me. With my first i "dropped" at about 36 weeks, but gave birth at 38 weeks. 2nd baby i dropped around 37 weeks and also had him at 38 weeks, 3rd baby i dont think i dropped until i was in actual labor and with my 4th i dropped at 38 weeks and had him a week later. Congrats on your pregnancy!

  • I dropped about 5 days before I gave birth. Whole time I was in labor so I think each woman is different but even through the drop he still was playing soccer with my lungs .

  • I never dropped with my son, but I can definitely tell when my daughter dropped this time around! I walk around feeling a horrid pain in my lower 'regions', and when I sit I still feel her toes in my ribs! I guess that's just the end of pregnancy talking though :) I think I finally felt like she'd dropped around 33 weeks, I could finally breathe again and drink water without getting heartburn.
