My teen son keeps getting constipated. What would you do? I am having him eat more fruit and water. Anything else? I really don't think he would eat prunes.

  • More high fiber foods...whole grain pastas, breads, fresh fruit and veggies. Metamucil works good too.

  • Lower the intake of white bread, white rice, white-flour pasta...

Do you know why prisoners are placed on bread and water? It's a punishment, but more than that, it's intentional torture: it causes constipation.

People should eat a wide variety of whole foods, in as close to their natural state as possible. When diets degrade to the point where they are made up of a short handful of highly processed foods, digestive disorders become 'normal.'
